White Velvet Okra seed came to us from our favorites at Truelove Seeds. Okra is one of those amazing gifts from Africa by way of the south that I am so grateful to have met through my farming life. It was one of the treasured plants brought to this country by the enslaved with the hope that they would find soil to grow and tend it. And they did, and it's become a treasure of southern food.
Okra can also be an amazing ornamental for the garden with its big lovely blooms and striking foliage and seed pods.
This variety lacks spines, a big plus for the harvester's hands!!
